Items we don't buy:
Whilst we have some of the finest examples of vintage/antique experts in the country at our disposal, unfortunately there are just some items that PackitPostit don't accept:
• Breakable items such as fine china, pottery, glass, vases – these items rarely survive any postal system and aren't insured, so we kindly ask that you don't send them. • Modern technology items such as digital cameras, CDs, DVDs, modern games consoles and mobile phones. • Rocks and fossils. • Restricted or illegal items such as weapons, stolen goods and counterfeit goods. • Other items such as porcelain dolls, vintage clothing, furs, stamps, books, annuals, sheet music and barometers.
To see what items PackitPostit do accept, visit the “items we buy” section of our website. Alternatively, get in touch at admin@packitpostit.co.uk or call 0800 086 9200.
If you send us a box of items that we do not accept, they will be returned to you in the condition they were received in and no offer will be made.
They certainly are. Every parcel we receive is automatically insured up to £350 against loss and/or damage.
To ensure your items are properly protected, we encourage you to tape the box securely and include plenty of bubblewrap. The more packaging the better, we always say. Better to use too much than too little.
We do not accept breakable items (such as china or glass) as they are likely to become damaged in transit.
In unusual circumstances where you wish to send us a particularly high value item(s), we can increase the level of insurance on the parcel to a more appropriate level. Please contact us before sending so you can discuss this with one of the PackitPostit team members.
No, even once we have received and appraised your items, the service remains 100% completely free to you. If you accept our cash offer we take no commissions from the value we offer you. And if you'd prefer to have your items back, we'll pack them up and post them back off to you for free.
PackitPostit is the easy, risk-free, fast and fair way to sell your old things.

The easiest way is to upload some photographs via our website but we will also accept photographs via email at admin@packitpostit.co.uk
The more photographs you can send, the better.
You should include one from the front, one from the rear, one of either side, one from above and if applicable of the inside. Additionally, if there is any damage, please send us some photos of this as well.

There are two ways to send your box to us:
1- Using your Pre-paid labels
When you order one of our free Seller Packs, we include two pre-paid stackable postage and sender details labels. All you'll need to do is carefully pack your items into a cardboard box, stick on one of the pre-paid postage and sender details labels, and then drop it off at any UK Post Office. the Post Office will accept it for shipping at no cost to you. You then just sit back and when we receive your item you will be notified by email, and in no time at all one of our team will contact you directly with our offer for your items.
2- Arrange a free home collection If dropping off your box at a UK Post Office isn't possible, simply give us a call on 0800 086 9200 and we will arrange to have your item collected on a date that works for you.
Parcelforce will then collect your box on the date you selected.
Parcelforce will bring their own labels and all you need to do is use one of the stickable customer details labels supplied and place it on the box.
Whether your free selling pack hasn't arrived* or you've already used your postage labels and wish to send another box, you can easily request more from the PackitPostit team. Just send us an email at admin@packitpostit.co.uk or call us on 0800 086 9200 to order some more.
*Your free selling pack typically takes 3-5 days to arrive. Please only order replacement labels if you've been waiting much longer than this.
The best and most accurate way to check an item’s weight is to weigh it using scales. If you find yourself needing to get an idea of an item’s weight without any gadgets to assist, it can be helpful to use household or commonplace items to calculate an approximate weight of your parcel. This is not an exact science, but it can help you to estimate the weight and size of your parcel in order to get an idea of how much it will cost to send. A 1kg bag of sugar is an excellent example.
OUR WEIGHING LIFE HACKS
If you’re struggling to find scales to weigh your parcel, try feeling the weight of your parcel against everyday household items.

Did you know that two litres of fluid weighs roughly the same as 2kg? This handy comparison should help you when it comes to getting the weight of your parcel correct.
TAKE INTO ACCOUNT PACKAGING WEIGHT
Remember the packaging you send your items in will add to the overall weight of your parcel, so please take this into account.
Select ‘order a free selling pack’ and at the very beginning you’ll be asked whether you have a large piece of furniture or something small. When you select ‘large piece of furniture’, you will be guided to an upload page where you can send us some photographs of your item, and once we receive them, one of our PackitPostit team members will give you a call to discuss your item and if it is something that we would be interested in purchasing. A member of the PackitPostit team will then give you a call to arrange a home visit.
If you can't get to your local Post Office for whatever reason, you can still send us a box using our free home collection service.
To book a collection, you can contact us via telephone on 0800 086 9200 or email us at admin@packitpostit.co.uk
If you literally have a house full of antique furniture, vintage item, collectibles and jewellery, give us a call on 0800 086 9200 and speak to one of our PackitPostit team members, as it may be a better option to arrange a home visit. A member of our team can discuss this with you when you call.
First you need to find yourself a cardboard box – any box will do, but make sure it’s strong! (A good place to source a box would be from a local Subway, they always have an excess of strong boxes that they need to recycle.)
And remember, there’s no size limit and the max weight limit is 30kg per parcel, so the bigger your box is, the better.
Protect your items individually where possible with plenty of bubblewrap before enclosing them inside your box. Additionally, you may even want to use scrunched up old newspaper to fill any empty gaps/space around your bubble-wrapped items to help protect them even further. Placing a ‘fragile’ label on the outside of your box can help – however, we do not accept fragile items such as china or glass as they are likely to break in transit.
If you are sending using pre-paid postage labels, use the sender details sticker and postage label included in your free selling pack.
If you have booked a home collection, Parcelforce will bring their own labels. Remember to stick your sender details sticker onto the box and you’re all set.
We do not send a cardboard box for you to pack your items into. Here at PackitPostit HQ we consider sustainability, so we encourage you to find your own pre-used box to pack your items into.
You may even already have one around your home, the attic or garage. If not, you may want to ask if your neighbour has one or collect one from a supermarket.
Your local Subway will always have an abundance of good strong boxes that they need to recycle, so it’s worth popping down to one of them to ask.
And remember: the bigger the box, the better. You can fit up to 30kg of items inside one box.
If you're posting your box using the pre-paid postage labels contained in your free selling pack, you can dispatch your box from any UK Post Office.
If you'd prefer to arrange a free home collection, just contact us to arrange a date that’s convenient for you.
Whether sending from a Post Office branch using pre-paid postage labels or having a home collection, every parcel we receive is handled by Parcelforce.
Parcelforce has an outstanding reputation for handling and taking care of parcels correctly whilst also delivering them promptly, making them the ideal courier for our services.
We pay the postage costs on your box, so you don't need to pay anything. However, as we're covering the postage to receive your box, which is approximately £13.85 per box, we ask that you include a wide range of items and/or items of value to ensure we can make you a cash offer that is worth your while. This is also why we ask you to fill up one big box instead of sending two – the more you can send us, the greater the offer is likely to be.
